I'm guessing that Hammer Down is a nuke. Why weren't Rob and Beth killed by it ?
It isn't a nuke JJ wanted to be realistic no living being not even godzilla would be able to survive a nuke at the epicenter and there were 2 explosions at the end most likely they're 2 MOABs non nuclear bombs that can devestate 3 to 4 city blocks. A neutron bomb was created the US as a non radiation nuclear weapon so that there is no radiation exsposure after the explosion . Same damage as a nuclear weapon just no aftermath damage. SPARTAN-089 20:53, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
